Group 4 Technology Develops One-Touch Threat Response Management

Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire, UK (May 16, 2005) - Whether in response to changes in threat conditions or holiday schedules, organizations are faced with two options: Either make time-consuming point-by-point adjustments in their access control systems or attempt to get by with a static configuration that may be overly aggressive or dangerously passive given their circumstances.

Group 4 Technology’s new Threat Level Manager, available as an option with multiMAX Version 5.0 software, efficiently and effectively resolves both problems.

In a single step, Group 4 Technology security management system administrators can immediately change the settings of their entire access control system between a choice of five security configurations. Simply customize each security configuration based on a variety of options.

For example, in a “Guarded” threat environment, all cardholders could access a particular door using their cards only. When the Group 4 administrator uses Threat Level Manager to move the system to the “High” setting, only a select group of cardholders can access that same door and are required to provide biometric and/or PIN authentication in addition to presenting their access cards.

The ability to change the level of security prevents unnecessary inconvenience at times of low threat, and helps to remind staff to maintain vigilance during periods of high threat.

The Threat Level Manager should be used by any organization requiring compatibility with government policies for managing and responding to changes in threat.

Key features include:

  • Immediate, comprehensive system adjustment in a single step
  • Five fully-customizable levels of security
  • Selective access profiles depending on threat level
  • Increase or decrease security levels during low occupancy periods
  • Quickly relax site security during fire or other evacuation emergencies
  • Scheduled and conditional commands based on threat level setting
  • Secure threat level activation to prevent unauthorized system adjustments
  • Compatible with multiMAX software versions 5.0 and later

Threat Level Manager is not available as an option with Group 4 Technology Lite Edition software.
